Also known as the prayer plant! Why you ask!? The reason behind the name is that of a night time it folds its leaves together like hands closed in a prayer.

This indoor plant has lovely oval leaves with light and dark green shades contrasting to it’s red viens. The Maranta has a relaxing habit in time and can produce a dainty sweet flower, however this can be a rare sighting.  A plant native to warmer climes in Brazil so it is most happy in a warm humid environment with the soil moist at all times – never soggy though! Indirect medium light levels and this plant will be happy as Larry!
